Subsequent to the program, students have shared amongst
themselves, as to how the Global Challenge Award Program has made
a difference to them. As the program name suggests, winning
students are from different countries. Working across cultures,
countries and time zones has been a great learning as can be seen
by the comments below. A rare opportunity while at school.
Global Challenge Award students stay in touch and share their
experiences long after the program. They tell us and each other how
the Global Challenge Award has made a difference to them. As the
program name suggests, students come from all over the world to work
across cultures, countries and times zones. As a result, they learn
from each other and from the experience. Their comments below show
why Global Challenge is a rare opportunity for global learning during
high school.
Through this project, what I enjoy best is that I feel that I can do something practically to protect the environment rather than just say it literally. I also feel the pleasure of communication and teamwork. It’s really nice to have peers work together with you and solve some problems, sharing difficulty and the joy of completing the work. I came into the program with great ambitions and all of my expectations were met. Personally, I enhanced my strength in communication skills. This is what David HU from USA feels.
The platform to apply my textbook/theoretical knowledge and what I have learnt in college into practical applications to alleviate environmental problems is the greatest motivation for me to join the Global Challenge Award and stay with the program. GCA not only provides the opportunity to learn more about science and technology through the STEM explorations, it also provides a chance to make friends internationally and understand the life’s of other students in other countries.
