City lads to participate in climate change conference at Copenhagen

A few days from now on Dec 7 to Dec 18, 2009 when thousands of prominent ennvironmentalists converge in Copenhagen, Denmark, for the Climate Change Conference, two young champions from Pune will be among them.

Master Roopak Karulkar 15 years old and Miss Trupti Joshi 14 years
old are attending the conference and will be visiting many organizations with similar interests, as well as various schools to encourage students and adults to take collective action to address Climate Change.

The “Climate Change Student Ambassadors representing GCA & Neeti ” are the winners of the Go-Dac (Gaming Olympiad for Disaster and Climate Change) competition held in Pune in Sep-Oct 2009, jointly conducted by Global Challenge Award , USA, a non-profit organization that conducts an annual online high school climate change response program and Neeti Solutions, Pune, India a socially committed
enterprise.
Neeti works in areas of computer based training for professionals and children using virtual reality and 3D simulation to create applications for climate change, disaster and emergency management.

Dr. Parag Mankeekar: Founder and Director of Neeti Solutions, one of GCA's board members and an Ashoka Fellow and Dr. Manasi Abhyankar: Neeti Coordinator of Children & Challenges, and Asia Coordinator for GCA,will be participating in the Copenhagen conference as mentors.
